Definition:
different than thermal fused laminate, in that the melamine (paper) layer is glued onto a particle board or MDF surface and sprayed with a plastic sheen making it abrasion resistant. Melamine can peel, as it is not thermally bonded to the substructure of the desk. Many big box stores use melamine products in solid or woodgrain patterns. This is not considered "commercial grade" furniture.
